Ascension foundation honors two physicians with Spirit of St. Joseph Award

TAWAS CITY – Officials with Ascension St. Joseph Foundation announce that Drs. Brad and Emily Kloska are the recipients of the 2024 Spirit of St. Joseph Award.
They will be honored at the annual Winter Gala on Saturday, March 9, at Tawas Bay Beach Resort in East Tawas.
The award honors the two family medicine physicians for exemplifying compassionate service to others, generosity of time and resources to the community, and a demonstrated commitment to Ascension St. Joseph Hospital’s core values of Service to the Poor, Reverence, Integrity, Wisdom, Creativity and Dedication.
“Drs. Brad and Emily Kloska are exceptional physicians who are involved with and truly care about their patients, associates and the larger community,” said Rose Goick Saddler, hospital administrator, Ascension St. Joseph Hospital. “They are two of the busiest family practice doctors in the area and have countless patients who can attest to their compassion and dedication to their healthcare needs and our community. They strive for nothing but the best for their patients and are the epitome of compassionate, caring physicians and leaders.”
The family medicine physicians are married and live in East Tawas with their three children. Dr. Brad Kloska grew up in St. Clair Shores and earned his undergraduate degree from Wayne State University. Dr. Emily Kloska was raised in Oscoda before attending Central Michigan University for her bachelor’s degree.
The couple met while earning their osteopathic medicine degrees at Michigan State College of Osteopathic Family Medicine. After completing family medicine residencies, they joined the medical staff at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital in August 2009.
Both physicians are members of Ascension Medical Group (AMG). Dr. Brad Kloska is a physician at Huron Family Medicine. He previously served on the Ascension St. Joseph Hospital Peer Review Committee for four years as well as on other hospital committees. He received the AMG Excellence in Quality and Safety Award in December 2023.
Dr. Emily Kloska is a physician at the Oscoda Medical Park. She serves as the AMG Regional Medical Director, overseeing the Standish and Tawas area AMG offices. She also chairs the Ascension Michigan Mid/North Region Quality Committee, serves on the AMG Governance Committee and leads the AMG primary care physician forum for the mid/north region. In addition, Dr. Emily Kloska is the Michigan Diabetic Initiative champion physician for the Oscoda Medical Park. In August 2019, she was named the Ascension Michigan Mid/North Region Physician of the Month. She also received the AMG Excellence in Quality and Safety Award for primary care performance in diabetes composite measures in 2022.
