October 31, 2023  Ascension St. Mary and Saginaw State Valley University have announced a partnership to strengthen the region’s workforce and improve quality of patient care by increasing access to educational opportunities.

“Both of our organizations recognize the need for a well-prepared workforce,” said George Grant Jr, President of SVSU. “Through this partnership, Ascension Michigan employees in Saginaw, Standish and Tawas City have the potential to expand and enhance their academic credentials so they can advance in their careers.”

Under the agreement, more than 2,100 Ascension Michigan associates, in a range of roles and hospitals and care sites located throughout the Great Lakes Bay and northern Michigan, would be eligible for a reduced tuition at SVSU.
